Removing the Cap Driver PDF Print E-mail

How to REMOVE THE CAP DRIVER on the compact machine.

Reasons and Solutions:

Your Compact machine will be delivered with the cap driver installed. To remove it for flat sewing, there are a few minor steps.

A. Looking from the front of the machine, you will see four allen screws towards the back of the cap driver, just before the pantograph. Remove all four of these screws and set aside.

B. Next, looking from the back of the machine, you will see four Phillips screws on the back of the cap driver. Remove all four of these screws and set aside.

C.From the front of the machine, you will need to place both hands under the top of the cap driver (on the flat part), and move the cap driver slowly towards you. There is a VERY small clearance between the cap driver and the needle bar, so be careful to keep the driver level and DO NOT force the driver off the machine.

D.Once you have removed the cap driver, make sure you keep all 8 screws in a safe place. These screws will NOT be needed for flat sewing.
