Bobbin Case Maintenance Proper bobbin case maintenance is essential for correct tension on your machine. For every 2nd bobbin that you have to replace, you should clean your bobbin case to ensure correct tension. This is often overlooked and most of the time the main cause of tension problems. Debris collects under the tension spring of your bobbin case very quickly and should be removed on a regular basis.1) Take a thin business card or matchbook case and insert it between the bobbin case and the tension spring to remove any debris.
